Everyone preparing for a trade show asks the same question: what will the stand cost? Answering it honestly means first knowing what the stand is — and that depends on more than most people expect.
This single question doubles the figure or halves it. A single-use timber build and a modular aluminium system that will travel to four shows are not the same stand, and cannot carry the same price.
The first is cheap on the first invoice and scrap after the show. The second is expensive on the first invoice and, divided across four shows, far cheaper per show. Nobody can give you an honest number without knowing which one you want — and anyone who doesn't ask is deciding it for you.
Every exhibition hall has its own regulations: maximum stand height, whether rigging from the ceiling is permitted, the electrical load allocated to your stand, the fire classification of permitted materials, whether double-deck stands are allowed.
These are not formalities; they change the load-bearing system directly. In a hall that does not permit rigging, a sign that would have hung from above has to be carried from the floor — a different structure entirely, at a different cost. A design drawn without knowing the hall and the stand number is risky the moment it is drawn.
Whether to renovate or rebuild can only be answered after the stand has been seen. If the frame is sound, renewing surfaces, graphics and lighting costs a fraction of a new build. If it is not, renovation ends up dearer than building new, because stripping and rebuilding is labour too.
None of this can be judged from a photograph. On renovation and upgrade work we look at the stand first, tell you how much of it can be saved, and set the design fee accordingly.
A trade show does not move. A design that arrives late means production done in a hurry: overtime, expedited supply, a shrinking margin for error. Rushed production is the most expensive way to build anything.
Setting the calendar early is the cheapest way to protect the budget. The time needed to approve the design, start production and plan transport is as real a line item as the price itself.
Three firms return three numbers, often far apart. Most of that gap is not a discount; it is a different job.
In one the structure is single-use, in another modular. One includes storage and re-installation at the next show, another does not. In one the printed graphics are part of the stand, in another a separate line. Without a project carrying a material schedule, you are comparing three different jobs — without knowing it.
The drawing cost of a stand you will use at four shows spreads across four shows, not one. A modular system drawn correctly once works out cheaper — and works better — than a stand redesigned for every show.
That is why a design fee is more accurately seen as an investment amortised over the stand's life than as an expense on a single event.
| Scope | Fee |
|---|---|
| Exhibition stand · mall kiosk · product display unit | €1.250 |
| Café · restaurant · store · showroom | €2.500 |
| Multi-level, special-construction or large-scale projects | €2.500+ — priced to the project |
| Renovating a stand you already own | set after we have seen it |
If you also entrust the manufacturing to Stand Dünyası, the whole of this fee is deducted from the production invoice. For a client who goes all the way through, the design is effectively free; for a client who only wants drawings, it is honest paid work rather than a loss leader.
Prices are in EUR and cover design only. Production, transport and installation are quoted separately.
That last point is deliberate. We would rather you hold a project you can use anywhere than feel tied to us by a drawing you already paid for.
Stand Dünyası builds exhibition stands, mall kiosks and product display units, and has done so from Istanbul since 2005. Renovating an existing stand, storing it between shows and re-installing it are our work too.
If you are opening a permanent café, restaurant, store or showroom abroad — work that ships flat and is installed on site by a local crew — that belongs to our export brand Standchi. Different variables, a different process.
Tell us the show, the hall and your stand size; we present the first concept within 5 business days.
