The story
ASANDA is for people who want to start a home practice and need the right mat to begin. The stand sits at the gallery balcony in warm terracotta, sand and cork, and its front is a wall of 24 rolled mats that shows the whole colour range at a glance.
The back faces the railing and holds the stock in a closed cabinet. The customer sides stay at 100 cm, the crown is 20 cm high and the stand stays within the 220 cm limit, while the slim plate columns keep the view over the atrium open.
Cork underfoot lets customers feel the material that is used in the blocks, and a simple line illustration on the right side explains the brand without a single word.
Manufacturing and materials
- Platform: 18 mm plywood deck with a 6 mm natural cork top, sealed and anti-slip.
- Cubby unit: 18 mm birch plywood with cream lacquer; oak top with a hard-wax oil finish.
- Columns: 160 × 40 mm steel flats, terracotta powder coat.
- Crown: 20 × 16 cm aluminium section, cream lacquer, terracotta acrylic letters.
- Showcase: 8 mm tempered glass with locks, 3000K warm LED.
- Illustration: terracotta line artwork in 3 mm laser-cut acrylic on the right counter face.
- Back cabinet: sand HPL storage with lockable doors.
Final dimensions are confirmed by on-site measurement before production. Mall height limits, electrical supply and fire regulations are checked with the centre’s technical office at project stage.
