The story
BOXWAY is a parcel network that brings the post office to the place people already go every week. Collect an online order from a locker on the way to the supermarket, send a return from the front counter, buy a box and tape it up on the spot.
The two locker banks form the left and right sides of the island, forty doors in signal yellow that are easy to find from across the concourse. The front is the staffed shipping counter with a flush scale, and the back is where parcels are packed and sorted. The crown stays within the 220 cm limit and shows the name on all four sides.
Signal yellow and charcoal are the colours of road signs and delivery vans: quick to read and impossible to miss.
Manufacturing and materials
- Locker banks: powder-coated steel lockers, charcoal body, signal-yellow doors with electronic locks; 10" touch screen; anchored to the plinth.
- Counters: 18 mm MDF, charcoal matte lacquer; 12 mm white compact-laminate tops.
- Scale: legal-for-trade platform scale set flush into the front worktop.
- Columns: 120 × 120 mm steel box sections, charcoal powder coat, cables inside.
- Crown: 20 × 18 cm aluminium box section, signal-yellow lacquer, charcoal acrylic letters.
- Graphics: UV-printed matte vinyl on aluminium composite panels.
- Services: 16 A power line, network and backup battery for the locker controllers.
Final dimensions are confirmed by on-site measurement before production. Mall height limits, electrical supply and fire regulations are checked with the centre’s technical office at project stage.
