The story
PRICKLO sells small plants for people who think they cannot keep plants alive. Succulents and cacti need little water and little space, so the stand shows them the way they grow: set into a sunken bed of sand-coloured gravel along the front counter.
The stand stands against a mall wall, so all the stock, the watering cans and the cupboard are on pine shelves at the back. The counter stays at 110 cm and the plants are set into the worktop, so nothing rises above it except two cactus-green towers of 60 × 15 × 210 cm at the back corners, each with the logo and trailing plants.
Sand beige, terracotta and cactus green feel like a desert garden, and the potting station on the left lets customers choose a pot and plant on the spot.
Manufacturing and materials
- Body: 18 mm moisture-resistant MDF with a sand-beige mineral plaster finish, sealed against water.
- Worktop: 40 mm solid pine with a hard-wax oil finish; sunken bed lined with a welded stainless-steel tray and drain.
