The story
EMBERLY brings the oldest way of making Turkish coffee to the mall: a copper tray of hot sand in which small cezves are slowly brought to a foam. The brewing happens at the front of the stand, in full view, and the smell carries across the concourse.
The island is open on four sides. Coffee is served at the front, hand-hammered copperware is shown on the left and right, and ground coffee is sold at the back. The espresso-brown crown stays within the 220 cm limit and carries the copper name on all four sides.
Turquoise tiles, copper and deep brown recall an old Istanbul coffee house, while five pierced-copper lanterns throw a soft patterned light over the front counter.
Manufacturing and materials
- Body: 18 mm MDF, espresso-brown matte lacquer.
- Tile band: 10 × 10 cm glazed ceramic tiles in turquoise and cream, bonded to cement board.
- Worktop: 20 mm cream quartz stone, heat-resistant around the sand tray.
- Sand tray: 1.5 kW electric hot-sand heater in a hand-hammered copper tray, thermostat controlled.
- Columns: Ø 100 mm steel tubes with a burnished-copper PVD finish.
- Crown: 20 × 18 cm aluminium box section, espresso lacquer, copper-finish acrylic letters.
- Lanterns: five hand-pierced copper lanterns with LED bulbs on a steel rod.
- Services: 32 A power line for the sand heater and grinders, water supply for the brewing station.
Final dimensions are confirmed by on-site measurement before production. Mall height limits, electrical supply and fire regulations are checked with the centre’s technical office at project stage.
