The story
SWEETCRATE is a pick-and-mix sweet shop that looks like it was built from market crates. Children see it from far away thanks to the red-and-white candy-striped columns. Parents like the clear bins and the scale at the back, which make it easy to buy exactly as much as they want.
The island is open on all four sides and each side has a role: two sides of scoop bins, one side of gift jars and giant lollipops, one side for weighing and paying. The pastel-yellow crown stays within the 220 cm limit and shows the name on every side.
Manufacturing and materials
- Counters: knotty pine crate modules (solid pine, 18 mm) with a clear matte lacquer, on an MDF sub-frame.
- Scoop bins: food-grade clear acrylic gravity bins with hinged lids and stainless-steel scoops.
- Columns: MDF, printed candy-stripe wrap with a scratch-resistant laminate.
- Crown: 20 × 16 cm aluminium section, pastel-yellow lacquer, acrylic letters with a red shadow layer.
- Jars: 5-litre glass jars with glass lids.
- Scale: legal-for-trade retail scale on the back counter.
Final dimensions are confirmed by on-site measurement before production. Mall height limits, electrical supply and fire regulations are checked with the centre’s technical office at project stage.
