The story
KERNELA brings the Turkish nut shop to the mall floor: freshly roasted pistachios, almonds and hazelnuts next to sun-dried apricots, figs and mulberries, all sold by weight. The stand uses olive green, toasted brown and saffron yellow, the colours of the product and of the regions it comes from.
The island is open on all four sides. The front and right sides are sloping glass displays of twelve trays each, one for nuts and one for dried fruit, so customers can see everything at a glance. The left side is for gift jars and boxes and carries a large still-life painting, and the back is where the scale and the payment point are.
The crown is 20 cm high and 17 cm thick and sits on four slim bronze columns, keeping the stand at 220 cm overall. KERNELA is shown on all four faces of the crown.
Manufacturing and materials
- Body: 18 mm MDF, olive matte lacquer; counter faces in toasted-oak veneer with a matte lacquer.
- Displays: food-grade stainless-steel trays under 6 mm sloping tempered-glass lids that lift from the staff side; stainless-steel scoops.
- Tops: 12 mm cream solid-surface, food-safe.
- Columns: 12 × 12 cm steel square tubes with a dark bronze powder coat.
- Crown: 20 × 17 cm aluminium box section, olive lacquer, cream acrylic letters.
- Graphics: printed on textured canvas-look film, laminated to 3 mm aluminium composite panels.
- Scale: legal-for-trade retail scale with a customer display; 3000K warm LED over the trays so nuts keep their natural colour.
Final dimensions are confirmed by on-site measurement before production. Mall height limits, electrical supply and fire regulations are checked with the centre’s technical office at project stage.
