The story
QUILLO sells fine pens and paper to people who still like to write by hand, and to people looking for a gift that lasts. The stand is quiet and well made on purpose: deep ink blue, dark walnut and copper, lit like a small writing room on the gallery floor.
The most important part is the testing desk on the right side. Nobody should buy a fountain pen without writing with it, so the desk has a leather pad, six test pens and an open ink bottle. The front and left showcases hold the pens, notebooks and inks. The back faces the balcony railing and is a closed cabinet with drawers and a gift-wrapping station.
The crown is 20 cm high and 16 cm thick and sits on four copper columns only 8 cm wide, so the stand stays at 220 cm overall and does not block the view across the atrium. QUILLO appears on the crown on all three customer sides.
Manufacturing and materials
- Body: 18 mm MDF, deep ink-blue matte lacquer; walnut-veneered showcase bodies and desk.
- Tops: 25 mm solid walnut on the testing desk and back cabinet, oil finish.
- Showcases: 10 mm laminated safety glass tops with locks; cream leather trays; high-CRI 3000K LED for true ink and lacquer colours.
- Columns: Ø 80 mm steel tubes with a brushed-copper PVD finish; cables routed inside.
- Crown: 20 × 16 cm aluminium box section, ink-blue lacquer, cream acrylic letters.
- Testing desk: cream vegetable-tanned leather pad, copper-finish pen holder with anti-theft tethers.
- Security: laminated glass, concealed locks and an alarm contact on both showcases.
Final dimensions are confirmed by on-site measurement before production. Mall height limits, electrical supply and fire regulations are checked with the centre’s technical office at project stage.
