The story
KITFORGE is a hobby shop for people who build scale models: planes, ships, cars and trains. The stand shows what the hobby leads to. At the front stands a glass case with a finished harbour diorama, and on the right a workbench with a half-built plane where customers can ask how it is done.
Backed against a mall wall, the stand uses the whole back as a tall olive unit: closed drawers for stock below and five shelves of kits above. Two slim steel columns and a 20 cm crown keep the front open and the stand within the 220 cm limit.
Olive green, brick red and raw steel give it the feel of a well-organised workshop, and the rainbow of paint pots on the left side draws people in from the corridor.
Manufacturing and materials
- Back unit: 18 mm MDF, olive-green matte lacquer, on a steel sub-frame fixed to the wall; steel bar handles; 4000K LED under each shelf.
- Counters: 18 mm MDF, olive lacquer; cream compact-laminate tops.
- Columns: 100 × 100 mm steel angle profiles, clear-lacquered raw steel.
- Crown: 20 × 16 cm aluminium section, olive; cream acrylic stencil letters, brick-red inlay line.
- Diorama case: 6 mm low-iron glass case on a lockable base, LED lit.
- Paint rack: sloped birch-ply rack with drilled pot holes.
- Demo bench: self-healing cutting mat, LED magnifier lamp, lockable tool drawer.
Final dimensions are confirmed by on-site measurement before production. Mall height limits, electrical supply and fire regulations are checked with the centre’s technical office at project stage.
