The story
MOCHELLA sells mochi ice cream: a small ball of ice cream wrapped in a soft, chewy rice-dough skin. It is eaten in two bites, so the stand is built like a small sweet shop, with thirty-two pastel mochi in a freezer case and gift boxes ready to fill.
The kiosk is a soft-cornered island at the 110 cm counter height, with the freezer case closed by glass flush with the worktop. The staff enter through a maple gate at the back, where the storage freezer and the hand-wash sink sit. A single matcha-green tower of 60 × 15 × 210 cm carries the logo on both faces.
Blossom pink, matcha green, rice white and pale maple come from the flavours and from a Japanese spring.
Manufacturing and materials
- Body: 18 mm MDF, rice-white matte lacquer, bent plywood rounded corners; solid-maple slats (30 × 15 mm).
- Worktop: 30 mm solid maple with a food-safe hard-wax oil.
- Freezer display: -18 °C display case with 8 mm heated sloped glass and flush glass top, LED lighting, integrated condensing unit with side ventilation.
- Logo band: blossom-pink lacquer with raised white acrylic letters.
- Hygiene: stainless hand-wash sink with hot water, fresh-water and grey-water tanks inside the back counter. No cooking on the stand.
- Tower: steel box frame, matcha-green lacquered MDF, printed acrylic illustration.
Final dimensions are confirmed by on-site measurement before production. Mall height limits, electrical supply and fire regulations are checked with the centre’s technical office at project stage.
