The story
SNAPRA is where people come to hold a camera before they buy it. Photography is a hands-on hobby, so the stand has two tethered demo cameras at the front and an action-cam station on the left, where the live picture from two small cameras is shown on a monitor as people walk past.
The island stays at exactly 110 cm, so shoppers can see over it. Two charcoal towers of 60 × 15 × 210 cm stand on diagonally opposite corners, front-left and back-right, so the brand and its yellow lens ring can be seen from every direction with only two towers. This keeps the stand within the mall limit.
Matte charcoal, a single signal yellow and light concrete-look tops give the stand the look of good camera gear. The sides without showcases carry large yellow line graphics of action scenes and lens rings.
Manufacturing and materials
- Body: 18 mm MDF, matte charcoal lacquer with an anti-fingerprint coating; yellow lacquered aluminium inlay lines.
- Worktop: 12 mm light grey concrete-look HPL compact laminate, scratch-resistant.
- Showcases: 10 mm laminated glass tops with locks; 5000K LED for neutral colour; alarm contacts.
- Demo equipment: security tethers with alarm sensors for cameras and action cams; 24" monitor on a VESA mount; hidden media-player compartment with ventilation.
- Towers: steel frame, charcoal lacquered MDF, yellow aluminium edge profiles, white acrylic letters and backlit yellow acrylic rings.
- Graphics: yellow cut-vinyl line art on the charcoal lacquer, sealed with a matte laminate.
- Services: 16 A power line and a network cable through the plinth.
Final dimensions are confirmed by on-site measurement before production. Mall height limits, electrical supply and fire regulations are checked with the centre’s technical office at project stage.
